Joseph Michael Gorszczyk, 76, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at his home. He was born on Sept. 26, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., son of George Gorszczyk and Rose (Urbanczyk) Gorszczyk.
In April of 1957, he was drafted into the Army and served his country honorably for two years. On Sept. 26, 1959, he married Ilamae Barnoski in Chicago, Ill. In 1974, they moved to Cassville, where he went to work with Schreiber Foods in Monett. He retired after 20 years of service to the company.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Ilamae, of Aurora; one son, Steve Gorszczyk and his wife Glenda, of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter, Nancy Jackson and her husband, Kevin, of Cassville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Cassville with Rev. David Miller as celebrant.
