Calvin Leon Boyd, 58, of Cassville, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011, in the V.A. Medical Center, Fayetteville, Ark.
He was born Oct. 3, 1952, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Melvin and Minnie (Gashe) Boyd. On Nov. 24, 1972, in Wheaton, he was united in marriage to Leatha Currens, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Roy Boyd, of Cassville; one daughter, Patricia Anderson, of Seligman; two brothers, Melvin Boyd, of Stillwell, Okla., and Billy Boyd, of Granby; one sister, Gerri Mac, of Rogers, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Jeanie Marie Boyd; and a brother, Loren Boyd.
He was a graduate of Southwest High School and attended two years at Crowder College. He was tool and die machinist for Roderick Arms in Monett. He was a United States Army veteran. Memorial services were held Saturday in the New Freedom Worship Center, Purdy. Rev. Joe Wogoman conducted the services.
Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
