Cassville Intermediate and Primary students recently participated in a Hoops for Hearts campaign to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA) to help in fighting cardiovascular disease and stroke. Pictured above are the six students who raised the most money. From left, are: Mackenzi High, $251.72; Ashlynn Howe, $203; Troy Hagins, $172; Joshua Schriener, $131.41; Kennedy Parnell, $127; and Michaela Cotton, $125. Students in first through fifth grades collected a total of $3,656.93 for this year's event. "I am humbled and overwhelmed by the community's willingness to get behind our students and the American Heart Association," said Coach Treslyn Pollreisz. "The children learn a lot about heart health and have a fun activity." Cassville is one of the top 10 fundraising schools for the AHA and has been recognized at the Missouri Association of Physical Education and Dance State Convention for outstanding community service. The top six earning students will be treated to lunch at Subway Restaurant with Pollreisz for their collection efforts.
