Delmar Eugene "Gene" Berry, 63, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011, in his home.
He was born Feb. 7, 1948, in Green Forest, Ark., the son of Delmar and Betty Louise (DeLong) Berry. On May 31, 2002, he was united in marriage to Sharlet (Hines) Sharp, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Jeff Sharp of Rocky Comfort, and Roy Gene Durossette, of Shell Knob; four daughters, Sherry McMillan, of Shell Knob, Theresa Snook, of Eureka Springs, Ark., Janice Grippando, of Exeter, and Shelia Belopavlovich, of Lee's Summit; six brothers, James Berry, of Cassville, Walter Berry, of Cassville, Johnny Berry, of Exeter, Troy Berry, of Exeter, Ray Berry, of Galena, and Emmanuel Berry, of Purdy; six sisters, Louise Moore, of Butterfield, Betty Sue Cotton, of Gateway, Ark., Ruby Orr, of Cassville, Naomi Hinson, of Monett, Wilma Hile, of Shell Knob, and Florine Kay Cotton, of Cassville; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
He received his education at Gaddis and Shell Knob schools. He was a life-long resident of Barry and Stone counties, where he was a truck driver for Journagan Rock Quarry. In the last few years, he was a salvage dealer. He was a commissioner for the Mineral Springs Road District.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell and Rev. Terry Bailie conducted the services. Burial was at Clio Cemetery, Jenkins.
