Cassville Aquatic Center to open Saturday

The Cassville Aquatic Center will open this Saturday. Open swim hours will be offered from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 1 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission prices will remain the same this year. A daily pass for swimmers over the age of 2 will be $4. Cassville Family YMCA members will have free access to the Aquatic Center throughout the summer.

Season passes, which are sold at the Cassville YMCA on Highway 248 in Cassville, will cost $70. Family season passes can be purchased for $175.

Free swim days will be offered at the Aquatic Center three times this summer. The first free swim day will be held on Wednesday, June 1. Community members will also have the opportunity to swim at no cost on July 1 and Aug. 1.

Family Nights will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. each Saturday. Families can enjoy the Aquatic Center for $5 during the two-hour swim time. Family season pass holders can take part in the events at no cost.

The Cassville YMCA will offer four different Learn-to-Swim Program sessions this summer. Three levels of instruction will be offered to 3- to 5-year-old students, and four swim levels will be offered for children who are over 6 years of age.

The following swimming class sessions will be offered this year: session one, June 6 through June 16; session two, June 20 through June 30; session three, July 5 through July 14; and session four, July 18 through July 28.

Swim lessons, which are held at noon and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, last around 45 minutes. YMCA members can take part in swim lessons for $25 per session. The fee for non-members is $45 per session.

The Cassville YMCA will offer private swimming lessons by appointment. Private lessons give students an opportunity to improve techniques and endurance during one-on-one sessions. Private sessions cost $90 for six lessons.

Aquababies, aquasize and guard start classes will also be offered again this summer. Aquababies and aquasize classes are free to YMCA members and $25 for non-members. Guard start, which is for 11- to 16-year-old students who are interested in working at the pool in the future, costs $30.

Lap swim hours will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Lap swims cost $1 per visit. Lanes must be reserved in advance.

The Aquatic Center can also be rented for private events. Rental fees, which cover staffing and the use of the slides, will remain at $100 per hour this year.
