Debbra "Debbie" Lagene Nobles, 53, of Washburn, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011, at her home. She was born on May 9, 1958, to Carl and Verlea (Nicodemus) Thomas in Hugoton, Kan. In 1960, the family moved to the Cross Hollows community, where she lived and attended Cassville School for 12 years, graduating in 1976.
In 1980, she joined the United States Navy and was a parachute rigger and a 3rd class petty officer. She served most of her time in Iceland, but also served in Spain, Italy, England and France. She was honorably discharged in 1982 and went on to complete her nursing degree in Liberal, Kan., and becoming a LPN. Then later, she went to cosmetology school and became a cosmetologist.
Survivors include: her parents, Carl and Verlea Thomas, of Washburn; one son, Carl J. Nobles, of Eden Prairie, Minn.; one daughter, Stacy M. Tuggle, of Washburn; four grandchildren; two brothers, Mike Thomas, and his wife, Michelle, and Mark Thomas, and his wife, Julie, all of Exeter; one sister, Cindy Burrows, and her husband, Buddy, of Washburn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Cassville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home.
