Homer Wesley Dutton, 98, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, in St. John's Hospital, Berryville, Ark.
He was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Fayetteville, Ark., the son of John Wesley and Bertha (Cawthon) Dutton. On March 31, 1981, in Kansas City, he was united in marriage to Norma Deanne Wilburn, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Drew Dutton and his wife, Laura, of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Debra Dutton, of Norco, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Teresa Thompson and her husband, Danny, of Rogers, Ark., and Tonya Painter, of Shell Knob; one brother, Hubert Dutton, of Kansas; one sister, Earline Ward and her husband, Neal, of Rogers, Ark.; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a step-daughter, Torri Brady; one step-great granddaughter; one brother; and two sisters.
He received his elementary education in Rogers, Ark. He then moved to California and graduated from University High School in West Los Angeles, Calif. In 1984, he moved to Shell Knob to make his home, where he was a land developer many years.
He was a member of Lohmer Full Gospel Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Lohmer Full Gospel Church, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor David Donaldson conducted the services. Burial was at McGuire Cemetery, Shell Knob.
