Gaylord Alton Hadlow, 84, of Shell Knob, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011, in his home.
He was born June 11, 1926, in Shell Knob the son of Thomas and Mary (Wilson) Hadlow. On Oct. 15, 1949, he was united in marriage to Blanche Ray, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Billy Hadlow and his wife, Susan, and David Hadlow and his wife, Jennifer, all of Shell Knob; one daughter, Beverly McCaulla and her husband, Ken, of Shell Knob; one brother, Donnie Hadlow, of Aurora; one sister, Faylena Wilson, of Shell Knob; eight grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Maynard; and one sister, Winnie.
He received his elementary education at Fairview and attended Shell Knob School. During World War II, he served in the United States Army. Most of his life was spent in the Shell Knob area, except for a short time when he lived in Kansas. For several years, he was employed at Fasco, from which he retired. He was also a cattle farmer.
He was a member of Bridgeway Assembly of God Church in Shell Knob and was a long time deacon of the church.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Bridgeway Assembly of God Church under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Lonnie Stockton conducted the services. Burial was at Clio Cemetery, Jenkins.
