Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Access Family Care Clinic in Cassville have been slated for 10 a.m. on Friday, May 20 with 7th District Congressman Billy Long scheduled to attend the event.
"It's been a long, tough road to finally get to this stage," said Don McBride, chief executive officer. "But the wait has been well worth it to finally celebrate the start of construction.
The new 9,000-square-foot facility will provide facilities for three medical providers, two dentists and two dental hygienists.
"We already have a dentist contracted," said Dr. Debra Davidson, chief operating officer. "He will begin in July and transfer to the Cassville clinic when the building is ready."
Current medical staff will relocate to the new facility from their current location at 1101 Main St., formerly the James D. Warn Community Clinic.
Groundbreaking ceremonies will take place on the site just south of Crowder College's Cassville Campus, located at 4020 N. Main St. in Cassville, on Business Highway 37.
R.E. Smith, a Joplin-based construction company, has the contract to build the new facility. Dirt work is already underway, and the project is expected to be completed in about nine months.
Kyle Denham, or Patterson, Latimer, Jones, Brannon and Denham, Inc., is the architect on the project.
