SWLT holds annual Angel Awards

The Southwest Little Theatre (SWLT) held its annual Angel Awards on April 16. In addition to award presentations, the show offered student monologue performances.

The event was hosted by Erika Hebron, Miss Missouri, and Alexandria Black, Miss Missouri's Outstanding Teen.

Gary Varner and Jared Hinde received the SWLT Outstanding Alumni Award for directing "Curious Descent" and "The Arrivals." Student directing awards were also presented to Justin Sloan and Brice Fields.

SWLT performers honored Wyatt Hester, SWLT director, for his dedication and positive influence on students. Hester received a special award that was shaped like a trojan.

High school award winners included: "Don't Drink the Water," best play; Brice Fields, best actor; Andi Bland, best actress; Justin Sloan, best supporting actor; Toby Schwerin, best supporting actress; Ty Hackett, best cameo actor; Laura Kelley, best cameo actress; and Alan McNabb, best technician.

Junior high school award winners were: "The Case of the Glass Slipper," best play; Chase Logan, best actor; Laci Schwerin, best actress; Tyler Bernard, best supporting actor; and Brittany Hackett, best supporting actress.
