The Cassville Wildcats picked up a 4-0 victory over Purdy on Monday night. Cassville's John Cavness earned the victory for the Wildcats. He pitched seven innings, allowed five hits and struck out six.
"Cassville played better with two outs," said Purdy Head Coach Joshua Hughes. "Cavness was just dialed in tonight. You have to tip your cap to him."
Cassville scored three times in the bottom of the third. Kreg Meyers singled, then Garrett Kirk reached on an error and Meyers scored on the play. Cole Beagle walked, and with two outs, Cavness doubled to score Kirk and Beagle.
The Wildcats added an insurance run in the fifth inning when Trey Rose singled with two outs and scored on a Cavness single.
