Softball tourney to benefit SADD, DARE
The Cassville High School chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and the Cassville Police Department will host a softball tournament fundraiser on Saturday, May 21. The tournament will begin at 11 a.m.
CHS students will compete against area law enforcement officers from the Cassville Police Department, Barry County Sheriff's Department, Missouri Highway Patrol and Barry County EMS.
"We hope everyone will bring a healthy appetite to support these really dedicated and motivated students," said Jennifer Luckey, who serves as Cassville's Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education (DARE) officer. "The community has always been generous in helping our youth participate in healthy activities, and we expect a good crowd."
Concessions, which will be available throughout the tournament, have been donated by Walmart. Students will sell hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks.
Donation jars will also be available during the event, and money can be submitted at Cassville High School.
All proceeds from the event and donations will be used to support DARE and SADD education activities.
The softball tournament will be held at Cassville City Park field #3.
