Carol Wonett Gerster, 67, of Eagle Rock, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
She was born Nov. 7, 1943, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Carl and Thelma Dutcher. On March 10, 1965, she was united in marriage to Harry S. Gerster, Jr., who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Michael Shawn Gerster and his wife, Robin, of Garfield, Ark.; two daughters, Louella Thompson and her husband, Robert, of Cassville, and Trina Sue Thomas, of Cassville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Jerry Eugene Gerster; and a brother, Carl Dutcher, Jr.
She grew up and received her education in Kansas. In 1978, she moved from Kansas City, Kan., to Eagle Rock to make her home. She had been a waitress several years and for 11 years she owned and operated a home cleaning service at Holiday Island, Ark. She retired from Ramey Supermarket in Cassville as a produce assistant manager. She was a member of Eagle Rock-Mano Fire Department and the First Responders, where she was a night dispatcher and safety officer. She received a plaque for 28 years of service to the Eagle Rock- Mano Fire Department.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Jim Clay will conduct the services.
