It's been a busy month so far for Purdy Police Chief Jackie Lowe according to a report he gave at the April meeting of the Barry-Lawrence Crime Stoppers. Three major incidents in Purdy remain under investigation.
Lowe said a truck was stolen from 604 Fourth St. in Purdy on April 14. The vehicle was described as a 1981 two-tone Ford F-100 with lights attached to a roll bar. The vehicle was left in the driveway with the keys in the ignition. The truck was bearing the license plates number ODP-757 and a vehicle identification number of 1FTCF10FXBPA60187.
A second report of felony stealing on March 4 concerned items taken from a residence on Harris Lane.
The victim reported over 100 steel fence posts taken from her garage, along with several rings, a necklace, a Sony Playstation, an Apple iPhone, a Sony iPod and 15 German beer steins. Total value of the stolen items was listed at $5.625.
A third incident took place on April 8 in the 200 block of Kay Avenue. The victim reported a wallet containing $3,000 was stolen from a parked vehicle.
Lowe said the investigation into these matters was ongoing and anyone having information on any of these felonies is urged to call Barry-Lawrence Crime Stoppers at 1-888-635-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 on tips leading to the arrest of suspects involved in felony crimes.
