Women's health event planned at Access Family Care in Cassville

Access Family Care will hold a Women's Health Week events for area residents from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 at the clinic, which is located at 1101 Main St. The theme for this year's event is "It's Your Time."

National Women's Health Week is a nationwide initiative that calls attention to the importance of women's health. During the week, families, health organizations, businesses, communities, the government and individuals come together to raise awareness about women's health issues and educate women about simple steps they can take for a longer, healthier and happier life.

Women's Health Week will focus on the importance of maintaining good health, regular checkups, and provide educational materials on a number of issues related to women's health. Free blood pressure screenings, pulse, weight and BMI checks will be provided at the Access clinic in Cassville on May 12.

A drawing will be held at each Access Family Care clinic for a basket of items that would appeal to many women.

Access Family Care, formerly the James D. Warn Clinic, is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The clinic is open until 7 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.
