The Texans, featuring Sam and Brenda Ray, of Arkansas, and Curtis Ray, of Cassville, entertained a crowd of over 120 individuals at the Crowder College Cassville Campus auditorium on April 29. The event raised around $1,500 for Habitat For Humanity of South Barry County. Funds will be used for current and upcoming building projects. Fastrip, McDonald's, Louis Metz and First State Bank donated a variety of items for the fundraiser. Boy Scout Troop #76 helped serve food and drinks during the event. In addition to fundraisers, Habitat For Humanity of South Barry County is funded by donations, monies collected at the Restore in Cassville and the Golden Hammer Club, which gives community members an opportunity to pledge between $5 and $50 per month to the organization. For more information on Habitat or the Golden Hammer Club, call Nora Young, president, at 847-0360.
