The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will host the Dogwood Car, Truck and Motorcycle Festival on the square in Cassville on Saturday, May 7.
Car show participants can pre-register at the chamber office during regular hours from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. through Friday. Registrations will also be accepted after 7:30 a.m. on the day of the show.
The first 100 entries will receive goody bags, which will include a commemorative dash plaque and 25th anniversary coffee mug. The mugs are sponsored by Baywash car wash, Commerce Bank, Freedom Bank, Remax Flat Creek Realty and Roaring River Resort.
Participants will be judged in over a dozen show classes. Car show judging will begin at 10:30 a.m., and awards will be presented no later than 3 p.m.
In addition to the Dogwood Dozen trophies, contestants will be eligible for the following awards, which are sponsored by local businesses: Show Stopper, Baywash car wash; Mayor Award, Ellis, Cupps and Cole; Chief of Police Award, Able 2 Products; Representative Award, First State Bank; Sheriff Award, Freedom Bank; Best Presentation, B&K Auto Body; Best MOPAR, Country Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep; Best Ford-Mercury, Les Jacobs Ford-Mercury; Best GM, Ken's Collision Center; Best Paint, Cassville Auto Body; Best Interior, Carefree Auto Center; Best Engine, Gautney Garage; Most Unique, Hometown Mortgage; Furthest Traveled, The Arc Shop; Furthest Trailered, Vollenweider Metal Works; and Most Unique Motorcycle, Cassville Motor Inn.
The largest car club will win an award and a $100 cash bonus sponsored by Seven Valleys Construction. O'Reilly and Carquest will sponsor the Work in Progress Award. The winning entry must be a legitimate build that is currently movable under its own power.
In addition to viewing dozens of car show entries, festival attendees will enjoy entertainment by Bob Gary. The disc jockey will offer a variety of music, car facts and games throughout the day. Food vendors, shopping and a poker walk will also be held during the event.
Thunder Around the Square will be held a noon. At that time, all car show participants will be asked to start and rev their engines.
Tickets for a 50/50 drawing, 25th anniversary T-shirts and beverages will be on sale at the chamber booth. T-shirts can also be purchased at the chamber office through Friday.
