Raymond G. Kaping Sr., 84, of Shell Knob, passed away at Mount Vernon Veterans Home on April 8, 2011.
He was born on April 24, 1927, in Waukegan, Ill. son of Rudolph and Florence (Essentrot) Kaping. He served in the Army in Japan from 1946 to 49, Korea in 1951 and Vietnam from 1969 to 70. On May 25, 1952, he married Mildred Bazzell in Huntsville, Ark. He also was a science teacher in Duncan, Okla. He was a member of the VFW in Shell Knob, a lifetime member of the NRA and a Vietnam Vet of America.
Survivors include: his wife, Mildred, of Shell Knob; one son, Raymond Kaping Jr., of Duncan Okla.; one granddaughter.; and two great-grand-children.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, at White Funeral Home, Cassville.
Memorials may be made to a favorite veteran's organization, such as the Wounded Warriors or Disabled America Vets.
Cremation will be under the direction of White Funeral Home.
