Charles L. Stone, 91, of Seneca, formerly of Wheaton, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in Joplin Health Care Center, Joplin.
He was born March 1, 1920, in Ada, Okla., the son of Charles A. and Anna (Melton) Stone. On Jan. 11, 1942, he was united in marriage to Wanda Hall, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one daughter, Jovita Martin and her husband, Larry, of Joplin; one son, Bob Stone and his wife, Peggy, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; one brother, Carl Stone, of Lowell, Ark.; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; and nine step-great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one son, Edward Lee Stone; his parents, Charles A. and Anna Stone; and one brother, Kenneth Stone.
He received his education at Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a retired sheet metal worker, as well as, a farmer. He was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held Friday in Seneca Church of Christ, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Jake King conducted the services. Burial with military honors was at Antioch Cemetery, Washburn.
