Cox Monett Hospital has a new leader.

Genice "Genny" Maroc has accepted the position of vice president and administrator of the local hospital. Her first day on the job will be Tuesday, May 31.

Maroc joins the CoxHealth system after serving as chief executive officer at Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo, Iowa, since 2002. She has a master's degree in hospital administration from Des Moines University and a bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN) from Grandview University in Iowa.

Maroc has enjoyed a 16-year tenure at Marengo Memorial. Before becoming CEO, she served in a variety of positions including director of patient care services, director of nursing and interim administrator and director of quality services. She was also an infection control/safety nurse at the Iowa hospital.

According to CoxHealth officials, Maroc's clinical experience, as well as her significant experience as an administrator at a critical access hospital, were important considerations in her selection as Cox Monett Hospital's new vice president and administrator.

"I was also impressed with Genny's overall style of leadership and her ability to develop genuine relationships with employees, medical staff and the community," said Dr. John Duff, CoxHealth senior vice president and administrator of Cox Hospitals.

Members of the CoxHealth leadership team will provide support at Cox Monett until Maroc takes over on May 31.
