Purdy cages Houn's

Thursday, April 14, 2011

The Purdy Eagles baseball team (5-3) defeated Aurora 5-3 last Thursday night.

"We struggled a little at the plate today," said Purdy Coach Joshua Hughes. "Reese Stevenson pitched a great game, and we found a way to win."

Stevenson threw six innings, allowed one earned run and struck out five for the win.

"We played pretty good on the defensive side of the ball," said Hughes. "We just need to keep building from here."

Purdy scored single runs in the second and third innings. The Eagles plated three more runs in the sixth.

The Eagles will be in action on Monday at Southwest. First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
