Dr. Russell L. Robinson, former Cassville band teacher, was in Chicago, Ill., for the National Honor Choir gathering to teach a seminar and promote his newly released choral score, "Why Have the Fallen Gone?" He met with Mary Richmiller, Cassville High School choir director, and Gail Shumaker, who accompanied the Cassville group on the trip to Chicago and was one of Dr. Robinson's former students. Pictured from left, are: Dr. Robinson; Richmiller; Shumaker; and the music publisher. Dr. Robinson wrote and performed "Why Have the Fallen Gone?" for the first time at a special concert held at CHS in October 2010. Dr. Robinson, who dedicated the song to the CHS Music Department, has been on the faculty at the University of Florida since 1984, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in choral and music education and is professor of music and chair of the Music Education Department.
