Rowena Louise (Walden) Hendrix, 72, of Purdy, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
She was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Washburn, the daughter of Abe and Berneice (Elgin) Walden. On Dec. 22, 1954, she was united in marriage to Jimmie R. Hendrix and he survives.
Additional survivors include: their children, Russel Hendrix and his wife, Nancy, of Washburn, Vickie Rogers and her husband, Kevin, of Purdy, Janice Conley and her husband, Danny, of Seligman, Michael Hendrix and his wife, Lilly, of Cassville, and Lorie Weaver and her husband, Stan, of Rogers, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Walden, of Lee's Summit, and Larry Walden, of El Dorado, Kan., and one sister, Linda Garrett, of Blairsville, Ga.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a great- grandchild.
She grew up and received her education at Southwest in Washburn. She was a life-long resident of Barry County where she was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial will be at Washburn Prairie Cemetery, Washburn.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
