Faye Pendergrass Fleischman, 92, passed away on April 6, 2011, at the Aurora Nursing home where she had resided since 2005. Faye was born January 12, 1919, in Barry County, Mo., to Edward Willard Fletcher and Nellie Ann Patton Fletcher.
She married Earl F. Pendergrass March 25, 1934, and he died December 31, 1981. To this union six children were born. A young son, Gary Earl, preceded them both in death. Surviving children include: two daughters, Velma Ann Henry and Nancy Faye Frausto; three sons, Dennie Lynn Pendergrass, Dallas Ray Pendergrass, and Roger Alan Pendergrass, Sr.; and a host of grandchildren.
She later married Fred Fleischman on March 31, 1984, and he preceded her in death in June 2010.
Faye was a dedicated mother, care giver and homemaker. She worked at the Mt. Vernon Nursing home for several years. Her interests included sewing, quilting, reading, travel, gardening and she excelled in making her homemade biscuits.
A memorial service and celebration of Faye's life will be held at the Aurora Nursing Home in Aurora, Mo., at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011. A private burial will be at a family cemetery in Barry County at a later date. The Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora has conducted arrangements.
Her smile and laughter over the years will be remembered and missed by all those who knew her.
