The Cassville Democrat's annual Easter coloring contest is now underway. The contest gives two young artists the opportunity to win huge Easter baskets packed with a variety of treats and prizes.
Each year, the newspaper, with the help of area business sponsors, awards coloring contest winners gigantic Easter baskets. This year, a dozen area businesses will help honor the talented coloring contest winners.
The list of sponsors for the contest include: Fastrip; Security Bank; Freedom Bank; First Baptist Church of Cassville; Walmart; First State Bank; Tomblin's; Hutchens Construction; Barry Electric; Sater Pharmacy; the Office of John Lewright; and the Cassville Democrat.
Children between the ages of 4 and 7 are eligible for the Easter coloring contest. Youngsters are invited to color the Easter drawing printed on page 15 of this week's newspaper.
Colored entries can be mailed to: Cassville Democrat, P.O. Box 486, Cassville, MO 65625 or dropped off at the newspaper office, which is located at 600 Main St. in Cassville.
Entries must include the child's name, telephone number and age. The deadline to submit an entry is April 15.
Two Easter coloring contest winners will be selected by local community members. Photos of the selected artists and their baskets will be published in the Cassville Democrat.
