Lewis Glenn Rowland, 84, formerly of Cassville, died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
He was born in Norwood on Jan. 30, 1927, the son of Lewis and Ursula (Hunt) Rowland. On June 8, 1946, he was united in marriage to Marian Babb, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Kerry Rowland and his wife, Cindy, of Jefferson City, and Kirby Rowland and his wife, Pat, of Maumelle, Ark.; one daughter, Kathy Rowland, of Columbia; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Bonnie Brite, of Kimberling City, and Ferne Wiseman, of Mountain Home, Ark.; and one brother, Ray Rowland and his wife, June, of St. Cloud, Minn.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristy Rowland Miskovsky; his parents; and two brothers.
He grew up and received his education in Cassville where he graduated with the Class of 1944. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he owned and operated a series of retail clothing stores in various towns including Lamar, Mo., and Mountain Home, Ark. He retired from the state of Missouri as a tax audit analyst.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Ron Stair will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
