Mary Ellen (Agnew) Lung, 71, of Miller, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011. She was born March 29, 1939, in El Centro, Calif., to Charles Reuben and Jewell Louise (Niday) Agnew. She married Kenneth Lung on Dec. 30, 1958, in San Diego, Calif. He survives.

She was a homemaker, but also worked as a nurse aide at the Lawrence County Nursing Home, as the lunch lady at Miller High School and as a volunteer clerk at the Miller Christian Center Thrift store.

Additional survivors include: her children, Denise Tyler and her husband, Greg, of Webb City, Debra Kosky and her husband, Mike, of Bolivar, Don Lung and his wife, Lena, of Miller, and Donna Allen, of Cassville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Cora Agnew, of El Centro, Calif.; and three brothers, Richard Agnew, of El Centro, Calif., Michael Agnew, of Fauna, Wash., and Perry Agnew, of Imperial, Calif., She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Evelyn Fennell.

funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at the Round Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Holman officiating. Burial was at the IOOF Cemetery at Custer City, Okla., on Thursday.

She has donated her brain to Washington University in St. Louis for the study of Alzheimer's.
