Andrew Douglas Juel, 78, of Monett, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Red Rose Health and Rehabilation in Cassville. He was born July 15, 1932, in Valentine, Neb., to Lester A. and Lillian A. (Sauerwein) Juel. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Relethford on Oct. 16, 1955, in Seligman. She survives.

He was a retired plant superintendant from Mitchel Manufacturing in Monett. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Washburn Baptist Church, Monett Masonic Lodge, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, Scottish of Joplin, Barry County Trikes, Monett Sportsman's League and Monett Jaycees.

Additional survivors include: one son, Clayton H Juel, of Seligman; one daughter, Rebecca Lynne Mayberry, of Pierce City; and two brothers, Louis Juel, of Johnston, Kan., and Leonard Juel, of Seligman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Juel.

A Masonic service was held Feb. 22 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Graveside services were held Feb. 23 at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn.
