James Stephen "Steve" Walker, 51, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

He was born April 24, 1959, in Monett, the son of Loyd T. and Carolyn (Scott) Walker. On Aug. 15, 1979, in Russellville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Marylon "Kay" Tate, who survives.

Additional survivors include: his father, Loyd Walker, of Verona; his mother, Carolyn Forester and her husband, Leon, of Lillian, Ala.; two sons, Billy Walker and his wife, Krystal, of Exeter, and Tommy Walker and his wife, Jessica, of Purdy; one brother, Richard Walker and his wife, Candance, of Frankfurt, Ind.; one sister, Julie Antle and her husband, Kelly, of Marionville; and four grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents and his mother-in-law, Bettie Tate.

He grew up and received his education at Verona, where he graduated from high school. He served his country in the United States Air Force where he was an air cargo specialist. For 18 years, he was employed with VB Hall, where he was a warehouse night shift manager. He was of the Baptist faith.

Memorial services with military honors were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Lee Miller conducted the services.
