Ralph Tabor, 82, of Shell Knob, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1928, in Springdale, Ark., son of Henry and Irene (Tweedy) Tabor. He attended Monitor Country School in Arkansas. He then joined the U.S. Navy as a gunner, serving on the USS Pittsburgh and sailing the seven seas during the Korean War. In 1963, he married Billie McNeil in Huntsville, Ark. He worked most of his life in construction. He and Billie moved to the Shell Knob area in 1990.
Survivors include: his wife, Billie Tabor, of Shell Knob; one son, Sandy Tabor, and his wife, Tonya, of Rogers, Ark.; two daughters, Donna Stayton, of Jenkins, and Pamela Maggia, of Shell Knob; one brother, Jim Tabor, of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Tabor; five brothers; and two sisters.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.
