William "Bill" Edward Pennewell, 75, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at his home.
He was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Stover, the son of William Bryan and Lettie (Hutchenson) Pennewell. On June 1, 1955, in Kansas City, Kan., he was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Slater, who survives.
Additional survivors include: four sons, William Eugene Pennewell, of Lawrence, Kan., James David Pennewell and his wife, Cristine, of Lawrence, Kan., Joseph Norman Pennewell and his wife, Louise, of Lawrence, Kan., and Edward Brian Pennewell, of Brandon, Ore.; one daughter, Barbara Rose Pickens and her husband, Al, of Lawrence, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Vernon, and two sisters.
He grew up and received his education in Kansas City, Kan. He served his country in the United States Army. For several years, he managed a Standard Oil service station in Lawrence, Kan.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
