Betty Mae Vader, 90, of Eagle Rock, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, in Brighton Ridge Nursing Home, Eureka Springs, Ark.

She was born Dec. 5, 1920, in Springdale, Ark., the daughter of William and Ruth (Denton) Cook. On July 23, 1939, in Kansas City, she was united in marriage to Ira Senter Vader, who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a grandson, three brothers, George, Lawrence and William Cook; and a sister, Geraldine Lewis.

Survivors include: two sons, Ronald Vader and his wife, Frances, of Kansas City, and Raymond "Ray" Vader and Suzanne Miner, of Eagle Rock; one brother, Robert Cook, of the state of Washington; two sisters, Frances Sproat, of Smithville, and Pauline Dutton, of Warsaw; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She received her education in Independence, graduating from William Chrisman High School. After a career at General Motors in Kansas City, she retired to Eagle Rock in 1974. She was a member of All Faith United Methodist Church at Eagle Rock.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend Bill Cook conducted the services. Burial was at Roach Cemetery, Eagle Rock.
