Marguaret "Margie" Louise Chandler, 76 of Cassville, Mo., passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at the St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.

Margie, or Mimi, as many called her, was born Nov. 29, 1934, near Exeter, Mo., in Barry County. She was the daughter of the late Charles "Chock" and Bertha (Cassity) Moore. She graduated with the Class of 1952 at Exeter High School. She was united in marriage to Bob Chandler on Nov. 8, 1969, in Albuquerque, N.M., and together they raised five wonderful children. Bob preceded her in death on March 8, 2004. Also preceding her in death was her son, Dennis Wade.

Margie is survived by her children, Karla and Eddie Ball, of Butler, Mo., Greg Chandler, of Rocky Comfort, Mo., Allen and Candie Chandler, of Cassville, Mo., Mary and Troy Parrish, of Wagoner, Okla., and Jackie and Bing Blackburn, of Punta Gorda, Fla. She was grandmother to Stacy and Damon McGuire, of Butler, Mo., Rob Ball, of Clinton, Mo., Mark and Amanda Chandler, of Sherman, Texas, Heather and Dustin Green, of Midland, Texas, Tiffany and Josh Damron, of Sand Springs, Okla., Kailey and Jason Richards, of Washington, D.C., Jessi Rae Herring, of Braggs, Okla., Tracy Blackburn, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Kelly Blackburn, of Port Charlotte, Shania Parrish, of Artesia, N.M., Kameron Duncan, Emma Duncan and Lindsey Warner, of St. Joseph, Mo. She was great-grandmother to Kelsey, Kolbe, Isaac, Dakota, Cheyanne, Colton, Conor, Kadance, Savannah, Brooklynne, Klayton, Jake and Brinlee. Margie is also survived by one brother, Terry and Linda Moore, of Exeter; one nephew, David and Sherry Moore, of Rocky Comfort; and one niece, Lani and Scott Pruitt, of Wheaton, Mo.; as well as a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Margie loved life and the celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Mo. Reverend Steve Higgs will officiate. A visitation will be held at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Barry County Museum in care of the funeral home.
