Opal Lee Santee, 87, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in Freeman Neosho Hospital, Neosho.

She was born April 9, 1923, in Stella, the daughter of Joseph Oran and Nellie (Jones) Long. On Aug. 2, 1940, in Neosho, she was united in marriage to Nathan Santee, who preceded her in death on June 15, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Bill Long and James "J.C." Long; and one sister, Esther Santee.

Survivors include: one sister, Alice Senters, of Exeter; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Long, of Neosho.

She grew up and received her education at Stella. She was the city collector for the City of Cassville, from which she retired. The last several years, she worked at the Cassville Senior Center. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Cassville.

Funeral services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Wes Stewart conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
