Sadie B. Hurley, 78, of Cassville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

She was born May 14, 1932, in Fulton County, Ill., the daughter of Harry and Stella (Wrestler) Heffren. On Nov. 16, 1968, she was united in marriage to Gary Thomas, who preceded her in death. On June 15, 1995, she married Manuel Hurley, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Deloss Heffren; and a sister, Helen Bader.

Survivors include: a daughter, Diane Funcannon and her husband, Mike, of Cassville; a special son, Mike Hurley and his wife, D.J., of Cassville; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Illinois, graduating from Lewistown High School. She received her cosmetology license from Peoria School of Cosmetology. She was a self-employed beautician. Twenty-five years ago, she moved from Canton, Ill., to Cassville to make her home. She did home care and was a caregiver to several people in the Cassville area. she was a member of the Swing'n Stars and Odd and Even Dance Club.

Funeral services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. John Duncan conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
