Fontella "Furl" Branstetter, 87, of Purdy, passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.
She was born Sept. 16, 1923, in McDowell, the daughter of Rual and Lydia (Koch) Seitz. In March 1940, she was united in marriage to Bee Branstetter, and to this union four children were born.
Survivors include: three sons, Richard Branstetter and his wife, Beverly, of Purdy, Robert Branstetter and his wife, Joyce, of Kimberling City, and Bill Branstetter and his wife, Natalie, of Neosho; two sisters, Fern Barnes, of Penryn, Calif., and Marilyn Hayes, of Overland Park, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were: her parents; her husband; one daughter, Linda Cheryl; one sister, Myrl Toler; one brother, Claude Seitz; and one grandson.
She grew up and received her education at Galena. She was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Mars Hill Church, Scholten, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Jimmie Copley and Rev. Jack Freeman conducted the services. Burial was at Mars Hill Cemetery.
