James H. Shields, 73, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1937, son of James Henry Shields and Grace Golden in the state of California. He served in the United States Air Force for 17 years and he was a mechanic.
Survivors include: one son, Jefferie Shields and his wife, Mary, of Cassville; one daughter, Patricia Shields, of Rogers, Ark.; one grandson; two brothers, Arlin Fields, of Cassville, and Willie Fields, of Exeter; and three sisters, Edith Head and Wilma Zang, both of Monett, and Alice Haddock, of Cassville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Juanita Shields; two brothers, Arles Fields and Sherman Shields; and one sister, Juanita Shields.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
