Honored student Democrat Photo Gage Holloway, son of Kevin Holloway and Adena Cox-Holloway, has been selected as Eureka Springs Elks Lodge #1042's student of the third quarter. Gage has has consistently achieved the principal's list and honor roll at Cassville. He has also held officer positions in the following student organizations: student council, secretary; National Honor Society, vice president; FBLA, treasuer; science club, president; and student political organization, president. Gage attended Missouri Boys State during his high school career. In his free time, he enjoys reading and running. He has worked as a dock hand at Kings River Marina. Student of the quarter Democrat Photo Mikhaila Burbridge has been selected as Eureka Springs Elks Lodge #1042's student of the third quarter. Mikhaila, daughter of Ramona Thompson and Kevin Burbridge, has been active in FFA, SADD and choir. She has served as a volunteer for Special Olympics, the junior senior prom and Global Youth Service Day. She also performed in the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) band during DARE graduation. Mikhaila has earned the follow awards: academic award; Above and Beyond certificate; choir letter; FFA Greenhand Award and Team Spirit Award. She is active in her church youth group and Smokebusters and has worked at Walmart, Roaring River State Park and Pizza Hut. Students of the second quarter Democrat Photo Austin Deffenbaugh and Kelsey Vollenweider have been selected as Eureka Springs Elks Lodge #1042's students of the second quarter. Deffenbaugh, son of Bob and Lisa Deffenbaugh, has been active in soccer, baseball and his church's Good Neighbor Group, which provides assistance to elderly individuals in the local community. Deffenbaugh has earned most valuable soccer player honors and achieved the all-district choir all four years of his high school career. He is also a member of National Honor Society, a four-year honor roll student and has achieved the CHS academic letter four consecutive years. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, reading, playing guitar, hiking and performing community service by offering trash collections, tutoring and winter weather clean-up services. Vollenweider, daughter of Mark and Melissa Vollenweider, has been active in Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), FBLA, art club, softball and basketball. She has earned all-district softball honors and achieved several awards at the Big 8 Art Show. Vollenweider is also a member of National Honor Society, an honor roll student and has earned academic letters and awards during her high school career. Last year, she werved as the junior CHS Tip-Off candidate. Her hobbies include reading, music, art, hiking and volunteering in the Cassville United Methodist Church nursery, food pantry and senior box program.
