Joe Higginbotham, 77, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1933, in Halfway, son of James Charles Higginbotham and Alberta Wilzona Higginbotham.
He served in the United States Army from February 1960 until January 1962. He was a semi-truck driver and a diesel mechanic.
He attended Lakeside Assembly Church in Hermitage. He married Martha Marie Neff on Oct. 23, 1971. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2007.
Survivors include: his stepdaughter, Millie Spence, of Cassville; seven grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Martha Higginbotham, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Perry Higginbotham and Hedrick Higginbotham; and his stepson, Ira Bryant.
Memorial services were held today (Wednesday) at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, with Chaplain Jack Betts officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Cemetery just East of Bolivar at a later date.
Cremation is under the direction of White Funeral Home & Crematory.
