Leonard Gerald "Jerry" Steverson, 77, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
He was born July 25, 1933, in Garfield, Ark., the son of Warren Dean and Florence (Pippin) Steverson. On Nov. 6, 1950, in Russell, Kan., he was united in marriage to Barbara Zinn, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Danny Gene Steverson and Leonard Joe Steverson and his wife, Holly, of Oswego, Kan.; one daughter, Sue Ann Steverson, of Lee's Summit; one brother, Chester Leon "Chet" Steverson and his wife, Edith, of Cassville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two children in infancy; two brothers, Paul and Bud; and two sisters, Louise and Hazel.
He received his education in Cassville, where he graduated from high school. 32 years of his life was spent as an over-the-road truck driver for Yellow Freight. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Kansas City.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Bro. Bob Neeley and Rev. Paul Yarnall conducted the services. Burial was at Corinth Cemetery, Cassville.
Masonic services were held Monday in the funeral home. Pythagoras Lodge #383 conducted the services.
