Minnie Irene Cornell, 88, of Holton, Kan., formerly of Exeter, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, in Eastridge Nursing Facility, Centralia, Kan.
She was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Exeter, the daughter of Beacher "B.B." and Gussie Annie (Cooper) Antle. On March 10, 1939, in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Ralph E. Cornell, who preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1971. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Lucile Antle in infancy and Hattie Purdom; and one brother, Gene Antle.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles Cornell and his wife, Pat, of Holton, Kan., and Glenn Cornell and his wife, Linda, of Springfield; two daughters, Retha Coble, of Springfield, and Ailene Pagel and her husband, Ben, of Kansas City; two brothers, Everett Antle and Lester Antle, both of Exeter; eight grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
She grew up and received her education in Barry County. She was a farm wife and for over 10 years she worked at Fasco in Cassville. She was an active member of Exeter Assembly of God Church before moving to Kansas to be near her family.
Graveside services were held Monday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Robert Day conducted the services.
