Lavern Hilburn, 88, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. He was born the son of Elree and Tena Hilburn on Sept. 11, 1922. He attended Quaker School.
He was united in marriage to Pearlene Boggess on July 31, 1942, and to this union were born five daughters. Lavern was saved in 1962.
Survivors include: his wife, Pearlene, of Cassville; five daughters, Sharon Sue Chambers, of Crane, Doris "Jo" Baxley, of Exeter, Joyce Carson, of Bentonville, Ark., Velena Callis and her husband, Tom, of Bentonville, Ark., and Cathy Hilburn, of Powell; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Herman, Clifford, Junior, Claude and Leroy; and four sisters, Berniece, Margorie, and two infant sisters.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Cassville, with Ralph Hilburn and Rev. Jack Freeman officiating. Burial was at Russell Cemetery near Butterfield.
Arrangements were under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
