Susie Jean Eckland, 65, of Eagle Rock, passed away at her home Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010. She was born on Aug. 29, 1945, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of clarence Hall and Jo (Mason) Hall.
She was a graduate of South High School in Wichita, Kan. On Nov. 12, 1965, she was united in marriage to Richard Clay Eckland in Wichita, Kan. They were business owners and she was a businesswoman for more than 30 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Eureka Springs, Ark.
Survivors include: two daughters, Shelley Crawford and her husband, Daniel, and Becky Walden and her husband, Rodney, all of Eureka Springs, Ark.; her mother and stepfather, Jo and Charles Pumroy, of Wichita, Kan.; three siblings, Katie Huaroto, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mary Jayne Cobble, of Wichita, Kan., and Chuck Pumroy, of Tampa, Fla.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eckland.
Graveside services were held Friday at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kan., with Pastor Robin Haines officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or First Assembly of God Church in Eureka Springs, Ark.
