Joseph Simon, 64, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, in Cox Monett Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1946, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Joseph Simon and Edna (Sarells) Mickle. On Dec. 28, 1993, he was united in marriage to Patricia (Yates) Kirkpatrick, who survives.
Additional survivors include: his mother, Edna Schuller, of Topeka, Kan.; one daughter, Audra Blue and her husband, Darrel, of Anderson; three sons, James Kirkpatrick and his wife, Melissa, of Pasadena, Calif., Bill Kirkpatrick and his wife, Shelia, of Pineville, and Jerry Kirkpatrick and his wife, Norma, of Cassville; one brother, George Schuller, of Topeka, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his father.
He received his education in Topeka, Kan. During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army in Special Forces. He was a self- employed sign maker and traveled throughout the country selling his woodwork crafts.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell and Rev. James Weaver conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
