Hazel Virginia Williams, 90, of Seligman, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, in Barry County Care Center, Cassville.
She was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Washburn, the daughter of Wyatt Eugene and Corda Isabell (Rose) Lawson. She was united in marriage Oct. 4, 1936, in rural Washburn to Opal Gleen Williams. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1990.
Survivors include: five sons, Doyle Williams, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Darrell Williams and his wife Cathey, of Hermitage, Tenn., Pharis Williams and his wife, Jeri, of Sun City West, Ariz., Knial Williams and his wife, Helen, of Seligman, and Norris Williams and his wife, Jo Lynn, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; one daughter, Ramona Fletcher and her husband, Jerry, of Seligman; one daughter-in-law, Susan Williams, of Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister, Lois DeWitt, of Hobbs, N.M.; 34 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband of over 54 years, she was also preceded in death by one son, Kevin, and her parents.
She grew up in rural Washburn and received her education at Buzzard Glory. In 1936, she and Opal moved to Seligman to make their home. She was a life-long resident of Barry County. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Seligman.
Funeral services were held Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor John Ledenham conducted the services. Burial was at King Cemetery, Seligman.
