Hundres of outdoor enthusiasts gathered at Roaring River State Park this weekend for the 2010 WOW (Wonders of Wildlife) Weekend held Oct. 8, 9 and 10. The National Outdoor Recreation and Conservation School is held every fall at Roaring River and offers a large variety of courses ranging from basic fly fishing to cave exploring. WOW classes are designed to teach participants how to enjoy outdoor activities while practicing personal safety and outdoor responsibility. In all, there were 47 classes offered at the park this past weekend. Some of the more popular classes were Dutch oven cooking, taught by Larry Quinalty, pictured at left, as well as rappelling, archery and kayaking.
