Barry-Lawrence Crime Stoppers and the Barry County Sheriff's Department are seeking information on a home invasion in Wheaton that occurred on Oct. 4.
According to law enforcement reports, the incident occurred at a residence located one mile north of Wheaton off of Highway 86 at around 3 p.m. in the afternoon.
The victim reported that he was asleep when he was woken up by a knock at the door, which he ignored. Moments later, the victim said he heard his dogs barking and went to check on them and found a subject kneeling down by his TV.
At that point, the victim confronted the home invader, who is described as 6' and 180 pounds and wearing a camouflage face mask and gloves.
The victim said he had the suspect pinned to the floor and was hitting him in the face when another suspect hit him over the head with a blunt object. The victim then chased the intruders out the back door where another suspect hit the victim in the head with a hammer.
The suspects left the home driving a black truck of unknown make and model. They headed north toward Fairview.
