Nena Mae Edens, 80, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, in Cox Monett Hospital, Monett.

She was born March 16, 1930, in the Mineral Springs community, the daughter of Chester Earl and Bertha Glenna (Ryan) Moore. In 1948, she was united in marriage to Johnnie Hood, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Joe Moore and Lonnie Moore.

On Feb. 12, 1971, in Springfield, she married J.H. "Red" Edens, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Johnnie W. Hood, of Cassville; two daughters, Donna Whitmore, of Cassville, and Judy Lauderdale and her husband, Larry, of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Bill Moore and his wife, Edna, of Cassville, and Jimmy Moore and his wife, Teri, of Caseyville, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Lasley and her husband, Ted, of Springfield, Colo., and Thelma Arbuthnot, of Springfield, Colo.; six grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.

She grew up in the Mineral Springs area and received her education at Cassville. She was a homemaker and was a life-long resident of Barry County. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held Friday, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Corinth Cemetery, Cassville.
