Mary E. Shore, 80, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.
She was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Carthage, the daughter of Alty T. and Josephine I. (Reynolds) Cook. On Sept. 3, 1948, in Kansas City, she was united in marriage to Leslie "Lavern" Shore, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Les Earl Shore; and two brothers, Fred and Will Cook.
Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Jaques and her husband, Rick, of Cassville; one son, Gary Shore, of Grandview; three brothers, Bob Cook of Lee's Summit, Harold Cook, of Marshfield, and Henry Cook, of the Philippines; four sisters, Edna Towle, of Joplin, Violet Bishop, of Reeds Spring, Lottie Rowell, of Joplin, and Shirley Hoover, of Holt; nine grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
She grew up and received her education in Carthage. She resided in Kansas City several years, where she was a mail order clerk for Sears and Roebuck. For a few years, she lived at Pomme De Terre, moving from there to Cassville around nine years ago. She was a member of Community of Christ in Aurora.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. James Weaver and Pastor Jeff Hastings conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville.
