Larry Bruce Hines, 60, of Wheaton, passed away Sunday, Sept, 5, 2010, in his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1949, in Olton, Texas, the son of Melvin and Wilma Lea (Loftis) Hines. In 1972, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Colledge with whom he had one daughter. On March 3, 2003, he married Marjorie (Nelson) Ahrens, who survives.

Additional survivors include: his daughter, Erisa K. Hines, of Pasadena, Calif.; his father, Melvin Hines, of Cassville; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Myers and her husband, Rob, of Seneca; one stepson, Michael Hoffman and his wife of Joplin; and eight step-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his mother and grandparents.

He received his education in Olton, Texas, where he graduated from high school and then attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, where he was a Red Rider. In 1975, he and his family moved to Kansas City, where he was an active member of the Elk's Lodge. He eventually made Wheaton his home in 1992 to work on the family farm and then later at George's.

He was a member of Wheaton Church of Christ, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Harold Reaves will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
